Lisa Gornick is the author of five works of fiction, including The Peacock Feast, Tinderbox, and Louisa Meets Bear—all published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Her stories and essays have appeared in the New York Times, the Paris Review, Prairie Schooner, Salon, Slate, Real Simple, and the Wall Street Journal. Hailed by NPR as “one of the most perceptive, compassionate writers of fiction in America,” she has received many awards for her work, including the Edgar Award Best First Novel Nominee and Distinguished Story by the Best American Short Stories.
