The Plentitudes is open for submissions for our Winter 2022 issue.

Submit by October 15, 2022 (11:59 p.m. ET). 

General Submissions Guidelines:

From now until October 15, 2022, we are accepting submissions of poetry, short stories, and personal essays via Submittable and Duotrope. All submissions are typically read and reviewed by at least two readers. 

Requirements and word/page limits:

  • Personal Essays: 1,500 - 5,000 words. 

  • Short Stories: 1,500 - 5,000 words.

  • Poems: No more than 10 pages and no more than 5 poems, in ONE document.

  • Submissions must be in English.

  • Must be an original, unpublished work, written by the submitter.

  • Marginalized voices, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and Disability writers, are particularly encouraged to submit.

  • We place no restrictions on topics or themes; we ask that the submissions are aligned with Our Philosophy.

* Submission fees apply. Upon publication, we award an honorarium of US$50 per published story, essay, poem or collection of poems.

** The Plentitudes Journal acquires First Rights for accepted work(s) for publication. Upon acceptance of publication, The Plentitudes Journal retains the right to be the sole publisher of the work(s) for the first year from the initial date of publication. Thereafter, contributors may republish their work(s), with The Plentitudes Journal credited as the initial publisher. The Plentitudes Journal retains the right to re-publish work(s) designated for print publication in an anthology and on our social media platforms.
