Mara Adamitz Scrupe

Mara Adamitz Scrupe is a visual artist, writer and documentary filmmaker and the author of six prizewinning poetry collections: In the Bare Bones House of Was (Brighthorse Press Book Prize 2020), A Daughter’s Aubade/ sailing out from Sognefjord (Middle Creek Press Chapbook Prize 2020), Eat the Marrow (Erbacce Press, 2019), Magnalia, (Eyewear Press, 2018), BEAST (Stevens Manuscript Prize 2014, NFSPS Press), and Sky Pilot (Finishing Line Press, 2012). Her poems and essays have appeared in many international literary journals, and she has recently won or been shortlisted for Bridport Poetry Prize (UK), Gregory O’Donoghue Poetry Prize (Ireland), Grindstone International Poetry Competition, (UK) Fish Poetry Prize Ireland), BigCi Environmental Fellowship (Australia), Aesthetica Award (UK), Erbacce Prize (UK), University of Canberra Vice-Chancellor’s Award (Australia), and National Poetry Society Competition (UK), among others. Her feature documentary film Love Letter to Leader, focusing on themes of land, community, and rural places, received the prestigious MOZAIK Philanthropy (Los Angeles) Ecosystems X Future Artists Award in 2022.
