Brahna Yassky

Brahna Yassky is a writer-artist whose publications include: Debut book: “Slow Dancing with Fire: a memoir of resilience,” Shanti Arts Publisher launching May 2022, American Writers Review 2020 published by San Fedele Press, Wired, The Independent, Salon, The Plentitudes Journal, The Ethel, The Girlfriend, Lilith. Awards include: honorable mention for the Doheny Prize 2018 from the Center for Fiction, 2019 finalist for the Brooklyn Nonfiction prize and short list for Fish Memoir Prize 2019. Residencies include: Artist/Writer residency in Bali with exhibition of writing, drawing and installation at the Bali Purnati Center 2019. Writer residency at Disquiet, Sao Miguel, Azores 2018. Art exhibitions: I have shown my work extensively including MOMA, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Hudson River Museum, The Painting Center in Chelsea. The Jersey City Museum, commissions from the NYC Department of Health. She lives in Brooklyn, NY and East Hampton, NY.
