R.B. Simon

R.B. Simon (she/her) is a queer, black, disabled writer whose work has found homes in pacificREVIEW, The Coop, Strange Horizons, Literary Mama, CALYX, Obsidian, and West Trestle Review. Her work has been shortlisted for numerous prizes, including the Julia Darling Memorial Prize, Crosswinds Poetry Prize, the Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize, and Unleash Book Award, and she won Second Place in the 2023 Plentitudes Prize in Poetry. Her chapbook, The Good Truth, was released in July 2021 from Finishing Line Press, and was a Finalist in the WI Fellowship of Poets Chapbook Contest. Her full-length collection, Not Just the Fire, was released in March 2023 from Cornerstone Press. In her free time, she enjoys creating visual art, napping, and coffee-flavored caffeine. She is currently living in Madison, WI with her spouse and newborn daughter.
