Monica L. Woo

Monica L. Woo is an Asian American woman writer published by The Plentitudes, The Bangalore Review, GRIFFEL, J. New Books and Rigorous. Her nonfiction was rewarded second place by The League of Utah Writers Olive Woolley Burt Awards. She was a featured storyteller at The Moth Mainstage Events 2024 global season premiere and other Mainstage events. Monica and her family were early Chinese pioneers to relocate from Hong Kong to Anchorage, Alaska in 1968. “Hear All Cries” portrays the struggles of a transgender woman and how she prevails through the mercy of Guanyin, the non-binary Eastern deity who hears all cries.
